Afternoon Enrichment Classes for Scientists Grades 2-5
Our enrichment classes are designed to introduce young scientists to new topics, while providing heaps of opportunity for safe, interactive learning. Classes are active and combine outdoor and indoor explorations. Due to COVID-19, groups will be limited to 10 persons, only students and staff will be allowed inside the building and 6’ distancing will be respected as much as possible. Children and staff are required to wear masks during class and participate in regular hand-washing and temperature checks at the start of each day.
All classes are 3:30-5:00pm

Got a curious student with a lot of interests? In this dynamic class, no two days are the same! We will explore different science and math topics through engaging, interactive experiments and projects. This fall we plan to dig into archaeology, create chemical reactions, and design our own brainteasers and optical illusions –to name a few!
Mission to Mars
Session A: Thurs & Fri, 9/17 – 10/16
Session B: Thurs & Fri, 11/5 – 12/4

Go Percy! This exciting class is focused on all things Mars. Students will learn about the Perseverance mission, build their own model rovers and Mars habitats and even launch a real rocket at the end of the session! Every student will also be able to earn a National Park Service Junior Ranger Badge and check out a telescope for use at home.
Solve It! Through Engineering
Tues and Wed, 9/15 – 10/14
Each week, students will embark on scientific investigations and engineer solutions for real-world problems. Through puzzles, experiments, challenges and discussion, students will challenge themselves to ask questions, test theories and get creative! Final projects can be taken home. All materials, including investigation kit and snap-circuit box provided.
Wild About LEGO Robotics
Tues & Wed, Nov 2 – Dec 4
NO CLASS 11/24, 11/25
This hands-on session celebrates animals! Students will design, program and build their own moving creations as they explore the biology and mechanics of some of the world’s most exciting animals. Students will be provided with their own workspace, LEGO robotics kit and computer.
